Activity 5/19/2026:
Midland 1st Youth and Parents,
The Tuesday night youth activity this week (May 19th) will be a combined YW/YM activity at the Church at 7:00 PM where we'll be creating a mural showing events and stories from the scriptures or church history. So youth should come prepared with ideas about their favorite stories and if possible, art supplies such as paint and paintbrushes, markers, crayons, colored pencils, etc. The mural paper will be provided.
The northeast outside door by the 1st Ward Bishop's office will be unlocked, so please plan to enter there. Pickup time will be at the usual time, 8:30 PM. Hope to see everyone there!

***Don’t forget to keep up with the summer read-a-thon. This weeks readings are the “Message From the First Presidency” and “Making Inspired Choices.” All found in the For Strength of Youth booklet.
***Along with this year’s theme, “Walk with Me,” there are smaller monthly challenges that we discuss each Sunday with the girls. However, with the shortened meetings coming up we may not touch on them during class so we thought it might be a good idea to email out the challenges so you can discuss them at home together. For the month of May the challenge is, “Walk in GRATITUDE.” Some ideas to participate in this challenge may be, to keep a gratitude journal for seven days Or maybe even longer! Say a prayer that's only gratitude - no requests. Express gratitude on social media, in a group chat, or while with a group of people. Thank a teacher, coach, or leader who helped you grow. Write a note or tell them personally. Or get creative as a family and create your own challenge! Have fun! "In everything give thanks."

***Also, a reminder to parents to subscribe to the church magazines especially the For Strength of Youth magazine as this will be a big part of the new youth curriculum starting in September. (Go to lds.org, sign in, and look up magazine subscriptions)
***Don’t forget to register your daughter for girls camp. An email from the stake should have been sent out with instructions on how to register and pay. If anyone needs help getting their girl to camp please contact Sister Cox ASAP!
***Looking ahead! Mark your calendars for the next youth temple trip. It will June 26. Meet at the church at 4 pm.
